The Kern Teacher Residency Program follows a calendar year. Each cohort begins in January and finishes in December.
Daily Schedule Stage 1: Primary Classroom Placement January-May **(subject to change)
M-W Co-teaching in the classroom with a carefully selected mentor teacher
Th Credential classes held in our district during the day (no parking struggles or fees).
Fri Can substitute teach for extra money. Residents have priority substitute status in our district. We will call you first.

An $18K stipend is offered during the 10 working months of the program!
Financial Aid
Residents are still eligible for any additional money offered to residents through various grants and scholarships including the Teach Grant. You would apply at CSUB in the financial aid department.

- You will be provided a laptop to use for the year.
- You will be able to participate in all training and professional development opportunities in the district.
- Experience working with an entire grade level with our Professional Learning Community model (PLC).
- Go through the credential program in a close cohort group.
- Opportunity to earn additional money substitute teaching on Fridays during stage 1 of the program (optional).
- May apply to teach summer school and get paid if hired
- $18K Stipend (paid monthly over 10 months of employment with district)
- All Residents will have priority job interviews in our district after completing the program. If hired, you commit to working in Greenfield for two years.
- Complete prerequisite courses; EDTE 3000, EDTE 3308, EDTE 4100 and EDTE 4200
- Degree
- CBEST (or BSR waiver)
- CSETs -three tests for the multiple subject credential program or ESM waiver through CSUB
- Apply and be accepted into the CSUB Credential Program
- Apply to Greenfield Union School District for the position of Resident (on web site)
